Organizations

This page is a work in progress. Currently I have three groups of links for local organizations and services:

  • General tools to find local services
  • Racial Justice Task Force related groups and organizations
  • Immigration and Refugee services (jump to link)

General Tools:

PATH Printable Champaign County Community Resource Guide

More on Dialing 211 resources from Path here. For a presentation of 211 services at a recent Champaign HRC meeting here, jump to the 35:30 minute/second mark.

Justice and Mental Health Collaboration Program Report: http://cheatsheetcc.blogspot.com/2017/12/justice-and-mental-health-collaboration.html

RJTF Related Groups and Organizations: related to the criminal justice system or possibly key to implementing Racial Justice Task Force recommendations.

Click on the chart for clickable links or go directly to the criminal justice subgroups for summaries and additional information:

Two groups that would implement and oversee the recommendations are still in the process of being created:
  • Restorative and Criminal Justice Coordinating Council (implementation)
  • Community Engagement Oversight Commission

Immigration and Refugee Services:

Many immigrant and refugee services are located at or available through offices in the C-U Public Health Department building at 201 W. Kenyon Road in Champaign (map) off of Neil Street just South of the I-74 interchange. More information on the Immigration Cooperative at WILL. Excerpt:
CU Public Health Administrator Julie Pryde said the award acknowledges the district’s efforts to build community partnerships, including an initiative launched earlier this year known as the “Immigrant Cooperative.”

Pryde described it as a one-stop shop where people can access services from several local organizations that work to help immigrants and refugees in east-central Illinois, including the Refugee Center, the YMCA New American Welcome Center, CU FAIR and Three Spinners.
