The Week Ahead 3/11 - 3/17

[UPDATE x2: The special meeting item's paperwork was not ready so there won't be anything to vote on tonight. The COW is still at 6:30pm tonight though.]

[UPDATE: Tuesday at 6pm, just before the normal COW meeting, there will be a special meeting to lease out part of the Nursing Home to Rosecrance for addiction treatment. More information here.]

Forums, questionnaire, and other Candidate Information mentioned in the Cheat Sheet organized in this post. The News-Gazette has interview podcasts on their website. Candidate websites and social media links at the CCVA Candidate Guide is a good place to start looking at candidates.

Make a plan to vote. Election day itself falls within Spring Break if you're going to be out of town. Early voting and Vote-by-Mail have begun.

County Calendar:

The week kicks off with the Nursing Home Board of Directors meeting at it's new 6:30pm time. From last month's agenda packet you can see this is more of a managerial board discussing financials and marketing more than policy or politics.

[UPDATE: Tuesday at 6pm, just before the normal COW meeting, there will be a special meeting to lease out part of the Nursing Home to Rosecrance for addiction treatment.]

This month's Committee of the Whole (what's a COW?) has a Racial Justice Task Force crossover. The Justice & Social Services Committee will have a "Presentation on the Database and Recommendations of the Community Engagement Subcommittee" and the "Community Reentry Quarterly Report."

The Zoning Board of Appeals is probably self-explanatory. This week, technical rule changes on wind and solar farms appear to be the focus (agenda). [More information in the New-Gazette today 3/15/2018: Resident offers cautionary tale on wind farms ]

The 2018 schedule is up on the Calendar page and the County page. The regular County Board meetings are back to Thursdays until next holiday season.
