Blood Needed

Local blood supplies are low for those interested and able to donate. Blurb from the News-Gazette yesterday:
Community Blood Services again calling for more donors
Community Blood Services of Illinois is asking all eligible blood donors to step up after the blood-donation rate dipped in recent weeks.

Current inventories are sufficient to meet patient needs, but it will take more donations to avoid a shortfall in August, the agency said. All blood types are needed.

In the local area, Community Blood Services is the exclusive blood and blood-components supplier to Carle Foundation Hospital and OSF Heart of Mary Medical Center in Urbana, and has donor centers in Urbana, Danville, and Mattoon, the agency said.

Potential donors can make an appointment by calling 800-747-5401 or find more information at bloodcenterimpact.org.
