About
I am running to be elected to represent the Voters of District 1. I am a fiscal conservative representing the rural values embodied in our district.

Biography
I was born and raised on a Livestock and Grain farm in Western Illinois. I am married with two married daughters. We have lived in Mahomet since 1994.

I graduated from Illinois State University and began work as a farm manager-Ag lender at a bank in Kankakee Illinois. I transferred within that bank organization to manage a farm department in Champaign in 1994. I left that organization in 1999 to become the farm manager for the Atkins Group in Urbana, a position I still hold today.

About information from campaign website: http://www.benjaminchapman.us/
I’m a lifelong resident of Mahomet, Illinois and I’m running for Illinois State Senate in the 51st Senate District.

Democracies are predicated on elections. Elections are predicated on choices. Before my entry into this race, a progressive choice was not on the ballot. LGBTQIA rights, universal healthcare, environmental preservation, electoral reform, and women’s rights were not on the ballot. This campaign is about putting them there.

We need to challenge every city council seat, every county board seat, every state assembly seat, and every congressional seat. That’s how we take back a country, and that’s how we fix a broken political system. One mind, one vote, one election at a time.

Seat 2:

R - Jodi Eisenmann - Candidate (recently filed 8/20/2018, unopposed as of this update)

Introduction from Champaign County Republican Party e-mail announcement:
Jodi Eisenmann Appointed and Slated As Republican in County Board District 1

CHAMPAIGN, IL: Jodi Eisenman, of rural Mahomet, has been appointed and slated today as the Republican County Board member to replace Brooks Marsh, both on the Board immediately and as a candidate in November's election.

Jodi’s background is in education and she currently assists her husband, Derric, in their family farming operation, JDE Ag Farms, Inc., but she is no newcomer to dealing with complex government issues.  Unfortunately, the Eisenmann family home’s well water was contaminated in the 2016 People's Gas natural gas leak north of Mahomet, and she has since been extremely active in the movement to help protect the Mahomet Aquifer.  She is also a plaintiff in litigation against People's Gas.

“I am excited to begin serving on the County Board," said Eisenmann. “My perspective as a teacher, homemaker, and involved in our farming business will be unique to the Board, and I look forward to working on so many County issues that affect our quality of life.”

“Ever since this tragedy was brought on them by People’s Gas, Jodi and Derric have been at the forefront, leading the charge for Peoples Gas to clean up the mess they’ve created and to strengthen oversight of their facility in northwest Champaign County,” said State Senator Chapin Rose (R-Mahomet) “Jodi testified in front of the Mahomet Aquifer Task Force earlier this year and I was extremely impressed with her advocacy in that setting, and I recall thinking at that time that she would make a great public servant. Little did any of us know that this vacancy would suddenly become available.  Aside from the aquifer issue, she and her family are heavily involved in the Mahomet-Seymour schools and they are also involved in production agriculture.  It’s hard to find someone, who ‘checks more of the boxes’ for District 1 than Jodi and Derric,"

Eisenmann was the unanimous choice of the Republican Precinct Committeemen elected in County Board District 1 who were charged to find a replacement in the open seat.

Eisenmann has a BS in Elementary Education from ISU and previously worked as a teacher at St. Joseph Elementary. Derric is a former Mahomet-Seymour High School stand-out athlete and graduate. Jodi is a graduate of Rantoul High School. They have been married for sixteen years and together have three children who are busily involved in local church, community, and school activities.
