The Champaign County Republican Precinct Committeemen representing County Board District Two met Monday, January 8, 2018, at the Rantoul Township Building and have appointed John Clifford as the new County Board Member from District Two.
John Clifford, a Champaign County Farm Bureau member, has been a lifelong resident of Champaign County and an active leader in northern Champaign County.
Clifford is married to wife Kimberly. Their children include Jami – 36, Kalin- 30, Jack- 29, Brendan- 26. Clifford's are members of St Malachy Church, Rantoul. In his application Clifford stated that he is very concerned about the Mahomet Aquifer usage and preventing its potential contamination.
Champaign County Auditor Diane Michaels praised the selection of Clifford by saying, "John will do an excellent job of representing the rural aspect of County Board District 2."
Champaign County Republican Party Chairman Mark Ballard stated, "John Clifford will do a great job for the citizens of our county, continuing the tradition of the leadership Diane Michaels so successfully brought to the board."
